Restaurants in Torrevieja
You'll
find the flavour of the sea in Torrevieja's cooking. The "
arroz caldero " is the typical dish. Its essential ingredients
are rice and fish. Grilled sardines, rice with anchovy, cooked
mackerel, ray, sea bream and codfish are other delicacies you
can eat in Torrevieja's restaurants. It may not be so easy to
find "pelotas" - meat balls,
one of the famous meals of the Costa Blanca in restaurants.Lots
of people traditionally eat them for Christmas day. They are made
of meat, spices and consommé.
You can discover and taste all kinds of brand new
culinary styles prepared by the different restaurants of the town
during the celebration of the "gastronomical days" which
lasts for 5 days in March. Since Torrevieja started participating
in these kinds of gastronomical events, such as in Stockholm in
1999, its cooking has become renowned internationally.

which offer everything from vegetarian to international food:
